Group!

I led my first group counseling discussion tonight on Goals/Future Identity for class. Woo! I did okay! I love my instructor.

Oh! I am up to 5 pull ups. And 30 pushups. And Saturday I am doing another 5k..going to try to beat my last time!

When you’re hurting in the middle of a workout or race, it’s easy to hold back or let yourself off the hook from running faster. But regret is the worst feeling to me. You want to challenge yourself. The more you get out of yourself, you start wondering, Maybe I could get even more. It’s fun to see what you can get your body to do.

Pull ups!

I think I mentioned this in an earlier post but I’m been working on my pull ups. I’m ashamed to admit that I haven’t been to the gym in two weeks, but I did borrow Steven’s pull up bar for P90X and have been using it. I am now up to 4 pull ups! I feel like I could probably squeeze in another one if I really tried, but for now I’m just taking it slow.

It’s so neat how the body progresses.  I had this realization last month when I PR’ed on my last 5k.  It’s so neat how the body gets stronger and how hard work DOES pay off.

I’m off to run to the bank. Literally. =]

lol hot.

Back to it.

Well, after an Easter weekend filled with treats and calorie overload, I am back to eating healthy and working out.  It’s always a little tough when you get back to the gym after 4 or 5 days off.  I always think “I should really take it easy” but then I think…”No..I should really be kicking my ass and making up for lost time.”

Today I was really annoyed because this one guy was on the pull up machine when I wanted to go on it. I figured I would just do my cardio while he was on it.  Once I was done with that, (twenty minutes later)..he was still on it! Okay, mister, did someone miss the lesson in school about sharing?

Needless to say, I did not get my pullup workout in. Boo.

Did I mention that I’ve been doing the Ab workout for P90X? It’s awesome! I really want to do the whole program but have no idea how to eat during it. Hm..

Also, running update…I didn’t sign up yet, but I am planning on doing Crazy Legs in Madison in 2 weeks. I hear it’s fun, but it’s an 8k. I’ve never done one but I figure I’d give it a shot. THEN, Run like a Mother on Mother’s day. My mom is doing her first 5k! Can’t wait!

Goal for this week: Run 4 miles. AND do my first dead lift!

Today

I feel accomplished:

1. I dropped my mom off at the flyer stop at 7:50AM
2. Went to Starbuck’s at 8:00
3. Had my Ideal Image Appt at 9:00
4. Went to Half Price Books at 9:20
5. Went to Chris’s at 10:00
6. Dropped Chris off near Miller Park at 11:15
7. Came home, ate, went for a jog at 12:10
8. Contacted a few practicum locations for grad school

What a productive day. But now I gotta get ready for work while everyone and their brother is at Miller Park!

Happy Good Friday! He died for me, I’ll live for Him
